2016 Summer Mission Trip

Twelve CAUMC Youth, Peggy Riley, Bekah Fillmore, and Mark Fowler served in Wind River, Wyoming, with YouthWorks.

The Wind River Reservation — the only reservation in Wyoming — is home to both the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. With mountain peaks, meadows and alpine streams, the natural beauty of the land is unsurpassed. In the midst of this beauty, the residents of the reservation and neighboring communities face social and economic challenges including poverty, substandard housing, unemployment and drug abuse.

Our mission team scraped and painted a house in partnership with tribal housing authorities. They also served in a nursing home, and led programming for Kids Club for local children, including Bible lessons, games, crafts and reading.

The youth fund their mission trip through football parking.
